February Plans

Just a quick update on the plans for the coming month...

M has her 8th birthday this Saturday. She is being baptised at our church that afternoon and is looking forward to that. She is also hanging out for her presents. She's been asking me since her party on Saturday if she can please just have 1 present early.

We move out of our house on the 18th. We've got lots of stuff to sell and pack before then, so it's a busy 2 weeks ahead for us. Poor M is living like a squatter in her bedroom since we sold her bed and draws last week. She's got a mattress on the floor and a few boxes of toys. We're doing a big garage sale on the 14th and have been active ebayers for the last month. If you live around here and want a fridge, washer, dryer etc then let us know!!

007 has his last day of work on 18th and M finishes up school on the 19th. We'll spend the last few days at Liesa's house and we fly out on the 24th.

007 has been looking for jobs and has applied for a few already. We know it's about the worst time to be leaving a perfectly good job and moving to the US, but we're trying to be positive and hoping that I won't develop an ulcer in the meantime! I will still have my job, which I am very thankful for.

We are at varying stages of excitement for the move. M is VERY excited. 007 and I are looking forward to the move and getting set up over there and seeing everyone in the US but we are also going to miss Australia and family/friends here. I think there will be a few tears at the airport...

Fun party! We're so excited to see you guys but sad for the family you are leaving. I know they'll miss you.
I grew up calling them thongs.

Em, I've just been looking back through your blog. You guys have a great life in Australia - maybe we should all move there!

We can't wait to see you. Good luck tying up all the loose ends.

Good luck, hope you manage to dispose of everything you don't need. The good thing is that you will be just a litte closer to us in the UK. Easier for visits in either direction ...

You've certainly had a few busy weeks and it isn't over yet. Maya's birthday party looked like great fun. Eleanor wants to go to Build A Bear for her birthday in June (actually she wants to go NOW but I'm making her wait until her birthday!). Good luck with the move and I hope you settle quickly in the States.

Yep, there will be tears at the airport!! I'm thinking of dumping you out kerb side and doing a dash to avoid saying goodbye. I'm glad we get you for the last 5 days though.

As your arrival gets closer I am getting more sad for you guys to be leaving! I am obviously so excited to have you close to me, but I'm sad that you have to say goodbye to Australia and the people you love there.
